Public Relations, better known as PR, is the anticipation, interpretation and analysis of public opinion, attitudes and issues which could impact the operations and plans of the company. It's about reputation, in other words how others see you and its effects. PR aims to earn understanding and support of the stakeholders by planned and sustained effort to form a positive relationship. Furthermore, it involves tasks such as setting objectives, training staff, planning and budgeting to name a few. The 3 E's are very important when it comes to Public Relations; engage - know your consumer, predict, respond and react to their wants and needs. Equip - give the consumers a reason to talk about the company, and empower - create talking points and moments of excitement, and develop new cultural references.
